Why isn't my blog showing up when I go to Explore Topics and search for it's tag

  1. My blog isn't showing up under any of the tags I have used on it, now, this isn't a big deal now because honestly I have looked at those tags and the quality of the blogs are so much higher than mine, but eventually i would like for my blog to be findable.... So it'd be wonderful if this could get worked out. I read it may "take a few days", it has been a week now since my blog has been created, and I have posted actively in it.

Incase it's not showing up for some reason, the url is agameprogrammingblog.wordpress.com

    Thanks for the help.

The blog I need help with is agameprogrammingblog.wordpress.com.

  2. A week is not enough time. Not only that but "YOU CAN DOWLOAD THE GAME HERE" posts may be against the terms of service unless you have permission from the game designers for that link.

  3. I will take the link down while I get express permission, although the book expressly encourages "sharing your game, so you can get feedback and improve". Thanks for that, they should clarify.

Few : consisting of or amounting to only a small number <one of our few pleasures>

To me, a few is 3-4, a "week or so" is 5-10, etc.

  4. If that's what it says, it should be fine. But a week is still too short.

  5. Alright, I'll keep that in mind, and I'll see if I'm up by the time that I actually care about blog views. I also got permission from the designer to redistribute the games, so I have re-added the download links.

  6. It has now been 18 days, considering the only google result I've found on this says "a few days" I'm really starting to wonder what is going on here. I realize my blog isn't top notch quality, but I've seen much worse...

  7. For Google it take 4 to 6 weeks to be indexed for a new blog - and yes I tested that when I put my History site on line - and Google decided to re-index the UNIVERSE in the middle of things and my site completely disappeared at the 4 week mark after having a bit of my content in their system

  8. I'm not worried about Google, I'm not even appearing in Explore Topics, which is a purely WordPress feature...

  9. Since I don't see an edit, I'll post this here, I have been avoiding spamming tags, and only tagged one post, so that I didn't spam the tags with my very often updates. That would be this post, posted 16 days ago: http://agameprogrammingblog.wordpress.com/2013/07/11/the-game-to-complete-the-book/

  10. I'm finding it rather silly there is no contact feature for official staff, at all. I'm completely fine with trying community first, but this isn't something the community can help with.

  11. All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
I'll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

What attracts search engines is unique content the cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Keep publishing original content frequently because as the other Volunteers said above it can take weeks before indexing will happen.

The process we use for verifying free hosted WordPress.com blogs with search engines is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don't feel panicky about this please.

WordPress.com provides the search engines with site maps. We bloggers do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/

  12. Thanks for the follow up tag. iam not worried about search engines and i meet none of the criteria to notbe on thetopics feed accordijg to that post .

  13. iam not worried about search engines

That's a puzzling statement because all healthy blogs receive most of their traffic from search engines, like Google and Bing, etc. Not to worry though as I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  14. Oh yeah i suppose i should rephrase. i am not worried about itnot appesring on search emgines athe moment because it is so soon. .

Pardon the horrible typos iam on my phone

  15. Not to worry about typos. I'm visually challenged and sometimes I cannot even see the mistakes I make until my focus clears which can be hours later.

  16. Hi clarynaa, I made an adjustment to your blog's settings on our end, and it should start appearing in the Reader Topics now. Thanks for letting us know!

  17. Thank you very much!
