Why isn't the slideshow option available/visible?

    In this new photo editor, I can't find the slideshow option anywhere. This feels archaic.

    The blog I need help with is rootdownla.org.

    If you upload images directly to the media library from Media -> Add New, you will need to attach them to a post or page before they will appear in a slideshow. Does this help? http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/#adding-a-slideshow

    Apparently some kind of problem developed overnight with this and Staff is looking into it.

    Until the button comes back, you can simply type the following in your post or page after you've uploaded your images.
    [slideshow]

    I've tried using the shortcode to no avail - no slideshow for me. (?)
