Widgets are at the bottom and not at the side?

    My widgets are at the bottom and not at the side of my blog. Is this because of the theme I have chosen? Or is it something I can remedy/
    I like the look of other people's blogs with their widgets at the side of their pages.
    Any help greatfully received!

    Balloons is a one column theme. This theme supports three optional widget areas in the footer that can be configured in Appearance → Widgets.
