I just got the new Standard theme, and I saw in the demo page for the theme that it's possible to have widgets appear without a white bubble border: http://standarddemo.wordpress.com/
How can I achieve this on my own blog?

I'm sorry but I'm not sire what you are referring by "a white bubble border". I'm more than happy to help you but since you are the theme subscriber so you can ask your questions in the dedicated forum where the theme author can help.
