   Will my wordpress.com blog still be active and visible after a Guided Transfer to a wordpress.org blog?

   It's generally a bad thing to have the same content in two places for search reasons, but yes, it can be if you so desire.

   Ok, I get that. So I need to sort of do a post telling my readers/subscribers that I have a new website and give them the URL to the new site.

   Will my subscribers come with me when I move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org?

   You can purchase the domain forwarding upgrade and visitors to old site will be sent to new site.

   I think subscribers can be moved if you use the Jetpack Plug-in and get help from the staff to move your subscribers.
