Hi. If I cahnge my blog address, will I lose my current followers?
Also, if I pay to lose the .wordpress.com in my blog address (in my current address) will I also lose my current followers?
And if I change my blog address and lose the .wordpress.part will I still keep or lose my current followers?

Hello, Thanks for that. I read a bit further down on that post and somebody from WP I presume, said that subscribers 'may' be able to be transfered but that WP cannot promise it.
Aghh, don't know what to do now. I don't want to risk losing any of my followers as they have taken a while to build up.
Do you think if I keep my address but upgrade to lose the .wordpress.com part I will still keep my subscribers???

If you use the custom domain upgrade, your followers will still receive the updates when you publish a new post.

The only thing that changes is the address in the browser bar.
Auxclass, thank you very much....I am happy that bit is sorted and I am all clear and confident now about losing the .wordpress.com part. :-)
What about if I totally change my blog address?
My answer is accurate as long as you change with domain mapping -
If you change from my-blog.wordpress.com to my-new-blog.wordpress.com then my answer does not apply and I am not sure what will happen - depends on how the address is changed
If you upgrade with domain mapping to a domain name you buy then the change is seamless and all the old links work and the search engines go to your new pages automatically
