   I downloaded the Windows 8 app, however, it informs me that I need to have a Jetpack powered site OR a WordPress.com blog. I have Jetpack installed onto my hosted space (along with the WordPress.org software), so...?

   This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.

   I would accept that, however, the piece of software I'm looking to use is asking for my WordPress.COM credentials to authorize the application (i.e. Windows 8 WordPress.COM app).

   It's not looking to do anything .ORG side, but .COM side. That's why I'm having difficulty. I do, however, appreciate you taking your time to direct me to those links. They did help me in other ways, but not in this one.
