How do I connect wordpress to my windows live writer? It says there's supposed to be some kind of button, but I don't know where the heck it is. Easy fix, all I need is your help.

You should be able to add the account at the WLW level - on the top at the far left side there is a drop down menu - bit hidden just had the down triangle - click on that and almost at the bottom is "Options" click on it - then Accounts and you will see an Add option -
It's a M/S product so what do you expect for friendly?? Hidden a bit for sure.
