I am trying to get a name for the blog in wordpress.com, and it tells me it is already used.
However, when I type the URL, it tells me the blog does not longer exist.
Its there no way to get it then?

It says no longer available: WP doesn't recycle blog URLs.
If you delete a site you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that site address.

Blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over a blog name that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.
