Wordpress and iPad2

    just found out that my beloved husband is giving me an iPad2 for Christmas! I am wondering if there are problems to handle the blog through the iPad - we are getting the 3G connectivity, which I might turn off if I don't think it's worth it.

    Anyway, anything I should be aware of? Apps to get? General advice?

    There is an app for iPads/iPhones/iPod Touches and in my experience it works pretty well. You can do posts and such on it, but you cannot administer the site.

    My understanding though is that the latest version of wordpress, which we are on here at wordpress.com, is supposedly designed to accommodate touch devices. I've not tried it out, so I don't know.

    Perhaps someone will come along that has.

    I guess I'll have to try it and report back. It would be great if I could compose a full post on it, even if I had to upload to the site at a later time, using a "regular" computer

    we shall see... I thought there would be more people with experience using it here in the forum.

    I have the WP app on my iPad 2 3 g and it's very very good. You can edit, post images preview your post and lots of other things. I really like it but.....I cannot get the snow effect. :-(

    This is what thesacredpath has observed:

    As processor intensive as the snow is, it could well be that Apple won’t let it run since it would severely shorten battery life. Viewing a site with snow Activity Monitor on my Mac shows it uses around 70 to 80% of my processor, and after just a minute or so the fans sound like a C-130 taking off.

    Thank you....

    I downloaded the App, made a test post, but ended up publishing one that I made exclusively with the "regular" wordpress software.

    Now I am trying to decide what is the best way to deal with photos - either transferring them to my laptop and then by the iCloud to the iPad, or getting a cable to download them straight to the iPad.

    The post itself worked well, some of the cut and paste takes longer because I don't have much practice with the "finger as a mouse" thing. But it's good to know I will be able to blog during a trip and using the 3G if needed.
