Wordpress Categories Widget - Corrupted and not getting removed

    Hi,

    I was changing the attributes of Categories Widget in WordPress -> Widgets section.

    After making the changes, I got this error

    %BEF_OF_TITLE%Categories%
    END_OF_TITLE%

    Now I am not able to delete the Categories Widget and that DYnamic Sidebar is not working.

    Also I can not see the SAVE option for this sidebar.

    Please tell me how can I fix this.

    My categories widget is acting badly too...it keeps giving the post counts for each category, which makes it overrun my sidebar and there is a floating letter "A" that Ive tried deleting no less than a dozen times today. I hit save, its fine, then next time I come back...the "A"and the post counts are back. Im pullin my hair out!

    I am having the same problem with crzypillahead. it just happened last night and i thought it would go away. but it did not.

    It might be related to this: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/categories-are-gone

    Several people have posted about a bug with the category widget today. It keeps changing the title and settings.

    good to know others are having this problem; i was getting really annoyed with that today! hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.

    Me too - also a post I've written and saved tonight looks good in the "edit" area but when I "preview" the post, the alignment is off on the left side with many of the sentences.

    I too have weirdness around the category widget. My best guess is that wp.com is currently being upgraded to include some wp2.7 features, and that this is somehow goosing the cat widget.
