Wordpress Domain Purchase

    So I bought a .org domain during a wordpress.com registration. I now want to host wordpress.org 3.3.1 at that domain, but it still shows up on my dashboard as mysitedotorg.wordpress.com. Will I be unable to load WP 3.3.1 to my .org site via my host? Wouldn't wordpress.com keep "pushing" whatever it wants to that domain so long as it is still registered? Should I simply delete my blog at wordpress.com so as to not cause any complications? Will that action not delete the domain name too?

    Sorry, I couldn't find anything on the forum search.

    Please help.

    The blog I need help with is mrsthompson.org.

    When we purchase a domain name and domain mapping our visitors see the domain URL on the blog. On the Admin side we see the root .wordpress.com blog subdomain ULRs and that's normal.

    If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. Follow the Update Nameservers instructions.
