Wordpress "Like" button does not work

  1. Visitors can't use the like button. They can push on the button but most off the time nothing happens.

The blog I need help with is mrbendb.wordpress.com.

  2. The like button here at WordPress.com like every like button ie. is for the in-house use of only those who are WordPress.com members and who are logged in. In other words, it's the same here as it is at Facebook.

  3. P.S. I clicked your like button on the latest post on your blog to confirm if it was in working order. Once I confirmed it was operational I clicked again to unlike.

  4. Thanks for your post. I know it's only for wordpress members. They have also the same problem. They all use W7 and IE9 and i think that's the problem. Are you using XP and Firefox?
    Thnx again

  5. Yes I am a Firefox user. i ditched IE when the horror IE6 was introduced long ago.

Note: If they are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

  6. Thank you Timethief! It was an IE9 problem. The most visitors are using it. I can hardly tell everyone to use Firefox.
    Time to change my theme...
    Regards,
    Ben

  7. Changing your theme will make absolutely no difference at all.

  8. Big smile on my face... no more likes for me!
