Wordpress not supported by iPad or iPhone anymore?

  1. I went to the Internet in iPad and all my pages are one long, unreadable thin line of content surrounded by blank page. Same on my iPhone. Is this a flash site? And if so, why has it always worked until now? I downloaded the app but it looks terrible, layered pages and hard to read.

The blog I need help with is inthebarberry.wordpress.com.

  2. What happens when you go here > Appearance > Mobile Options
    and disable "Enable mobile theme"

    See here > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-onswipe-ipad-theme-is-no-longer-available-on-new-blogs?replies=1

  3. The app is more designed for managing your blog, not reading blogs (with the exception of the Reader portion which shows new posts form blogs you're subscribed to).

As for your blog, this is what I see on my iPhone, which is actually normal for your theme: http://cl.ly/image/3b3g2f0J1T2X

You might want to try the mobile theme, enabled at Appearance -> Mobile in your blog's Dashboard.

  4. Did not work. So does this mean I can't use WordPress on my iPad anymore? That's my primary reading tool for my blog!

  5. macmanx not sure if that's what I normally see but sorry, I should have emphasized that I mostly use the iPad.

  6. Ok, this is what I see for your blog on my iPad: http://cl.ly/image/3L0y121u0F2d and http://cl.ly/image/3g410w0W170p

    Is that what you're seeing?

  7. Macmanx well first of all no, what I see is one or two long white lines that clearly are the pages messed up. If I turn the iPad sideways it becomes a touch more readable but still basically useless.

Second, I see the links you sent me but they seem to be opening in an odd format. Anyway, I see half my page in the pic and no that's not what it looks like on the Internet.

Just to clarify, my home page works fine. It's the WP pages (stats, reader etc) that won't open properly.

  8. Ps so I can see the "W" headings, reader, stats my blog etc, but whatever page it's on is just a few thin white lines

  9. Second, I see the links you sent me but they seem to be opening in an odd format.

They're just webpages which load the screenshot images that I took.

Anyway, I see half my page in the pic and no that's not what it looks like on the Internet.

Right, because I can't get a screenshot of the entire page on an iPad, which is why I provided two parts.

Just to clarify, my home page works fine. It's the WP pages (stats, reader etc) that won't open properly.

Ok, we're still working on that. For now, I recommend using the app to get that info: http://ios.wordpress.org/

  10. I think the photos opened in my new WordPress app automatically, macmanx. Is that possible!

  11. That should have been a question mark, lol.

So yeah, put together the page looks right on those pics. But not what it looks like on my iPad.

Thanks for working on the problem! ;)

  12. Ok, so http://inthebarberry.wordpress.com/ doesn't look right on your iPad?

Or, http://inthebarberry.wordpress.com/ looks fine and http://wordpress.com/#!/read/ doesn't look right?

  13. I am having the same problem viewing WordPress on my iPad just now. I don't use the app, just view it through safari.

  14. Ok, it's all fixed up now. Sorry for the trouble!

  15. Awesome!! Thanks for the quick response. :)

  16. You're welcome!
