Wordpress taking ages to load

    I see the recent thread on this topic is closed. However, I too have been (and still are) having huge problems accessing all wordpress.com sites (including this forum).

    I am in the UK and my ISP is Orange. I performed a traceroute to s0.wp.com and sent it to support yesterday but have had no reply.

    Could this please be passed to a Happiness Engineer for some help.

    We have been looking into this problem with our content delivery network since yesterday. The last word on it is that it was resolved and the problem no longer existed.

    It's still not working for you? I'll take a look.

    You may also want to contact Orange and let them know that you are experiencing this connectivity problem to a specific delivery network. They may be able to assist you or give you more information.

    Hi there,
    I certainly am still experiencing the problem. It has taken me over 5 minutes to get to this thread.

    I contacted Orange this morning, but I'm not too hopeful that they understand the problem.

    I read yesterday that you considered this resolved, so that is why I contacted support yesterday with details of tracert and my ISP as requested in the original thread.

    I have not have any acknowledgment from support yet...

    Hi!

    Same here - the slowness is slowly killing me :(

    It is taking a lot of time until the page is finally loaded (all - posting, editing, loading blog itself), but most of the time it loads without the style - plain html (or whatever are the terms).

    What could be the reason for that?

    We can't even speculate without the URL of the blog you're talking about, starting with http.

    I found earlier today that uploaded photos took ages to show up in the post, and photos already in posts wouldn't load at all. Might just be my lousy router though.

    Mine is intermittent, and depends on what browser I use. I can't do anything on Firefox. I can get here, but after that, it's just torture. Finally times out trying to load a page. I'm using SRWare Iron now (Chrome clone), and it loaded quickly this time, but earlier, it loaded without the style.

    I just signed up here, and my friend had told me that this was why she left WordPress. I wanted to at least give it a try, but hope it isn't always going to be like this.

    I don't have such problems.
    1. What's your operating system?
    2. Is your security program up to date?
    3. When did you last virus scan your blog?
    4. Which browser and version of it are your using?
    5. How exactly do you connect to the internet and to wordpress.com?
    The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    Others experiencing slowness: as much as we'd like to help, "WordPress is slow" is not nearly enough information. Please provide ad much detail as possible when you file support tickets. Staff need to know exactly what page you are on, what you are doing, how long it takes, and preferably a list of which resources are slow (obtained with Firebug or Safari's Web Inspector). http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
