WordPress won't let me change the blog URL
-
So originally I made this as a video game fan website, but it never worked so I’m going to use it as my own personal blog for employment purposes.
I bought the URL and I’d like to change it from angrygames.net to dantaylorgamedesign.net so I can use it for my own personal purposes.
When I go on blogs and click the current one to change things, it just says the plug in is currently unavailable and has been for days. Infact nearly two weeks.
I’m losing patience now, can anyone tell me how to do it?
Many thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have no idea but I can’t put it down on my business card as my website until I change the URL to access the blog.

The changing your blog address and the changing username tools have been temporaily disabled by Staff just as the message states, and we Volunteers have no idea when Staff will reactivate that feature.

Luckily not being able to access that feature does not prevent you from blogging -
Hey timethief posted this in another thread. (timethief, sorry to copy and paste your response but I knew this guy was looking for the exact same info)
To purchase a domain mapping upgrade see here >

It doesn’t matter, the URL does not suit the purposes of the website. I need it changed. Is there another alternative?

This really isn’t what I wanted at all and I don’t want to pay again when I’m having to pay for something as good as defunct. I think I’d rather just delete the account.

You can delete a blog but deleted blog URLs here are not recycled. That’s why 3 warnings are given and why a vertfication link in an email that must be clicked is sent in order to accomplish deletion. I sugesst you simply make the blogs ptivate rather, than deleting them. You can use them as test blogs and/or as backup blogs.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Before you delete your blog you will want to have Staff remove the domain mapping and I have flagged this thread for their attention.
Though Username accounts are not deleted at wordpress.com http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ please note the following:
1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
http://wordpress.com/#!/following/subsettings/3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:

Registered domain names cannot be changed, and angrygamers.net has passed the 48-hour refund period.
In this case, you would need to register your desired domain separately. Once you have done that, I can also move the mapping for angrygamers.net to your new blog so visitors to the old site will be redirected to the new site.
Auto-renew has already been disabled on angrygamers.net so it will expire naturally next January.

When will this feature be restored as its been like this for several days and I too am trying to change mine?
