   I just loaded a new site, and I'm trying to find a way to delete the wordpress at the end of my site name. http://www.triathletedad.wordpress.com

   Did you pay for your own domain? If not, then there's no way to get rid of it. Also, there's no www. at the beginning.

   But to answer the question, wordpress.com does offer domain mapping. It's $10 a year and you can find it at Dashboard -> Upgrades -> Domain. Please read the instructions there.
