Wordpress.com email to draft

  1. I was just wondering if it were possible to send an email to wordpress.com and it not immediately post to the site as published. I would like it to just go to draft first, then be reviewed before publishing. I see all sorts of plugins, but never anything for the regular .com sites.

The blog I need help with is oldirtdog.wordpress.com.

  2. Searching on "post by email" in the support documents gave this at the top choice:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/#shortcodes

    see publish status

  3. ah... that is exactly what I needed... thank you oh so very much....

Is there not a default setting that EVERY post goes to draft or pending?

  4. No.. Without any tag like [status draft] the post you email will be directly published on your blog.

  5. hmmm... yet another reason to move to a hosted solution, I guess... surely I can do that with a full install... I just figured there would be a default post state for EVERY post, not just emailed or texted in... oh well...

  6. I think only two words either [status draft] or [status pending] are not responsible to make your email very large. Almost everyone wants to publish his post directly. Not to go to Drafts. :-)
