Wordpress.com Flash on Iphones?

    Hello,

I searched the forums and did not find an answer. My blog is not "usable" on iphones and ipads (the menus in particular) because those devices don't support flash.

Anybody know if wordpress.com is working on this. (Like HTML5 ?)

The blog I need help with is tritoncommunities.com.

  2. We actually don't have any Flash elements on the front end of blogs, except for VideoPress videos when accessed with a browser that doesn't support HTML5.

Depending on the theme, the menus are either just CSS or JavaScript and should work just fine.

Which blog were you referring to?

    Thank you!

My blog has flash menus. http://www.tritoncommunities.com

  4. There's not a single Flash element on your site.

The drop-down menus in your page navigation bar (assuming that's what you're referring to) are 100% CSS.

The can work on touch devices, like iPhones, but you have to kind of hold on them for a few seconds. It's one of the problems with having a touch-based interface, there's no way to approximate a "hover" action with a finger like you do with a mouse pointer.

Instead, we recommend activating the mobile theme via Appearance -> Extras in your blog's Dashboard.

    Hi,

The menu bars on the 20/10 theme that have multiple items will not "drop down" on iphones. I have multiple items under "Neighborhoods" at http://www.TritonCommunities.com .

  6. Yes, as mentioned above, you have to kind of hold on them for a few seconds to initiate the drop-down. It's one of the problems with having a touch-based interface, there's no way to approximate a "hover" action with a finger like you do with a mouse pointer.

Instead, we recommend activating the mobile theme via Appearance -> Extras in your blog's Dashboard.
