wordpress.com migration

  1. I want to migrate my subscribers from my wordpress.com site to my self-hosted wordpress.org site. I can't find the information in the tutorial. Please advise.

The blog I need help with is christianrward.com.

  2. Do you wish to move your followers from christianrward.wordpress.com to christianrward.com? Please confirm that is your intention and I'll take care of that for you.

  3. Yes, that is exactly what I wish to do. thank you for your assistance. please let me know what else I need to do. please also confirm when you've been able to accomplish this. appreciate the help.

  4. Your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers have been transferred as requested.

Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they'll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

You might think about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at christianrward.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.

  5. Thank you.

  6. You're very welcome!

  7. I know I said we were done....I responded before I noticed that only 17 of my 254 followers migrated. Does that mean these are the only people who have re-registered as followers? I know it's not a lot but now I've lost 234 other souls who take the time to read me. Can you advise?

Also, I had in the .wordpress.com format a place for links to other blogs I recommend. I can't figure out the widgets to allow me to post that on my site. Can you help me with that? Really appreciate your help.
    Be well.

  8. All of your WordPress.com and email followers have been transferred. The majority of your followers, however, are on Facebook and Twitter, and don't get transferred via Jetpack. Instead, you will need to point those services to your new self-hosted site independently.

  9. Makes total sense. Thanks for straightening me out. Appreciate it. I will work on self-promotion--not one of my strengths obviously.

    Be well.

  10. You're very welcome!
