WordPress.com News Instant Notifications interrupted

  1. I originally posted this is the forum sticky on Weekly and Daily Digest Email Subscriptions and as per staff request, I am posting this separately.

I am subscribed to the WordPress.com News blog and my instant notification emails stopped working after August 19th's post. I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, as well as subscribing from different emails (when logged out), but to no avail. Nothing received. I'm using gmail for my subscription notifications.

To answer the obvious questions: I have checked spam (continuously) and I am not using the newest style of gmail inbox that sorts your mails automagically into categories.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

  2. Heya Jen,

Thanks for sending this in. I don't know how I missed the fact that I've not been receiving my emails from the News blog, but I definitely haven't been getting them either!

I've added this to our ongoing internal thread discussing the digest email issue. I really appreciate you bringing it up and making sure we were aware of the issue!

  3. Theyyyyyyy're back!

After nearly a month AWOL, as of the Facebook Embed post, my inbox is happy again. Will let you know if this continues to be a pop trend.

  4. Thanks again for letting me know about this! Appreciate it! :)

  5. Hi Ash, sorry to say that the WP.com News announcements have again disappeared from my inbox.

The last one I received was announcing the Automattic Worldwide 5K. As of right now, there have been two additional posts on the WP.com News blog since that post.

    Thanks for looking into it.

  6. Same here. Stopped yesterday. I usually have several comments and likes. Now? Nothing. Not on my last two blog posts.

  7. @melfr99- my support thread deals exclusively with the WordPress.com News blog, which I have set to receive instant notifications. I am not having a problem with any other instant notifications from other sites I follow

Your topic deals with receiving notifications from your own site and so you should probably start your own support topic if you haven't already so that it will get the attention it deserves.

  8. Heya Jen,

Thanks for pointing it out! I've been out of town and haven't been checking my email like I usually do. I've brought it to everyone's attention, so as soon as I've got anything for you I'll let you know!
