I have done a lot of searching and found only instructions on how to verify my site using Webmaster Tools under Tools. However, my wordpress hosted site does not have this option, nor can I edit the CSS or upload any .htm files. Is there any way to do this or are users of WordPress hosted blogs unable to use this at all?
The blog I need help with is fantasereader.wordpress.com.
Go to tools > available tools and you will find the verification section toward the bottom. Use this support document as a reference (things have been changed slightly and the support document needs to be updated as to the location of the webmaster section).
You have no FTP access to your site to upload programming files - it is a security and reliability issue.
You can edit the CSS if you purchase the CSS upgrade - Custom Design for $ 30-- a year.
