Words that annoy on blogs

    @ tess :D

  2. :D It's all about the gauntlet havin been thrown down and havin some fun with that. :)

  3. Funny. I posted about the kind of blog that irritated me and I got a lecture on curtailing free speech. I don't have a problem with words, it's the context within which they are used that irritates me sometimes. I personally don't used swear words as I have a 12 year old that likes to pop over my shoulder :)

  4. Haha. I am too irritated with myself to notice anybody else all that much. Tess, you are such a loser. When are you going to stop yelling at the automated voice *&^%$# on the T-Mobile service line and get a life? :)

  5. I am 100% guilty of using profanity and overusing "Awesome," but I don't think this makes me uneducated nor do I think it lowers the value of what I have to share. I can definitely see that it would turn some people off and I've actually censored myself a few times. I'm not necessarily trying to shock anyone, sound "hip" or offend, but I write like I talk and I, apparently, I talk like a sailor.

It's something to think about, I 'spose.

As for "Awesome," I have absolutely no excuse. I just like it. A lot. I also capitalize it for some reason. Perhaps, I'm a lost cause.

  6. I also use "I" in excess...ugh...is there a way to edit existing posts? I'm new...forgive me. I should just stay out of forums and stick to what I know; television and curse words.

  7. If it's a personal blog, then a person should be free to use whatever language and style of self-expression. Then your reading audience will attract a certain readership on a regular basis.

Same for those who don't cuss much online....except it's a different audience. (and it's not duller that's for sure.)

I just wince at the reality/idea (?) of ie. a 50, 70+ yr. old blogger cussing alot in face to face conversation or even in writing. Kind of a gross thought.

And not someone I care to spend hours and hours of face to face personal time unless it was my job to help the person. It's exhausting to listen to someone like that.

Life is short..and that includes my blog reading time on weekends. I work full-time.

  8. cjackittycat: Nothing wrong with using I alot in your personal blog. You'll transition in and out of that mode in your blog writing. You're already aware of the use of "I". That's a good sign.
