Would it be possible to recover an old blog which got deleted last year on the 8th of February 2012 - It was deleted for personal reasons, however, I wish to now look back at what I used to write about a year later. I was wondering if this is possible?
My old blog was called: animenathan.wordpress.com

No, it's not possible. Once a blog is deleted, the URL is lost forever.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 - 6 months.
Igf you go to Google's cache yopur indexed content will be in cached copies and you can copy and paste it into new posts and pastes. It's tedious but it's your only hope of content recovery.

I'm willing to spend nights if I have too, in order to get this blog back.
It holds a lot of memories.
