Would like to add outside <script> Widget to sidebar?

Can anyone tell me how to take the <script> code of an external widget and add it to my sidebar? I think I might be able to do it if I switch to Epanel Themes for WordPress. The problem is I can't find a proper upgrade in my current WP account that will let me have access to that kind of code. I don't want the Widget in the content, therefore, thus, or hence, XHTML and CSS are out of the question. If anyone could tell me how to do this, I would be forever grateful. I don't mind switching themes either to an Epanel option, if that is the only way! Thanks all...

Thank you so much timethief! I apologize about the forum thing also. I thought that it would have to be .org indeed but thought I would try some of you knowledgeable folks first. I can't thank you enough for the information. All I have for now is .com but will switch to .org here pretty soon. All evidence does lead to .org. Going on vacation soon and wanted to see if I could find a quick fix before I left, but it looks like I will have to get the .org up and running when I get back. I already have the software downloaded, just don't have the time right now. Once again timethief, thank you for your help and taking the time to link me to much appreciated information. I wish you the best of days, weeks and upcoming Holiday seasons! Thanks again...
