I have set up a site with the stand alone wordpress software installed and I'd like to move it here to wordpress.com - how would I go about that without redoing the entire site? Thanks.

Well, the theme is not transferable here. Presumably if it's WordPress software, you have an Export button on your dashboard under Tools. Use it, then on your Wp.com blog use the Import butting to import the contents.
