where is the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, how do i access it to install plug ins?

But you won't be able to install plugins on your WordPress.com blog, if that's what you're asking. We have the choices on the Widget page, and that's it.

Raincoaster... (like the name by the way) Why won't a user be able to install a plugin? On the wordpress.org site there is pretty detailed info on plugins.

WordPress.com is a wp-MU or multi-user blogging platform. It operates on different software than wordpress.org does. It has different security issues http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/22/where-is-my-plugins-tab/
