WP Homepage Stats Widgets

    Hello,

    The past few days I have been unable to open or close any of the widgets on the stats section of the WP Homepage. (the ones which give details about the stats such as referrers, nationalities of visitors and clicks) They are frozen in whatever state of open or closed they were last week when they last worked.

    In trying to remedy this myself I've already tried opening and closing my browser. refreshing the page, rebooting my PC- which automatically clears all temporary files on the browser. Nothing has generated a change. I get the same results with the Home Page stats widgets from my android phone as well.

    I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. While waiting would you like to try some troubleshooting?

    If you are using IE9 in compatibility mode that render it to functioning as IE7 and IE7 is not supported.

    If you are using Avira ani-virus then there have been issues with it as well.

    Are you using the secure https:// log-in?

    To assist Staff please provide the following infomation:

    (1) How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) Which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

    Until it gets fixed, try using the stats pages on the older (and vastly superior) dashboard:

    @ featherseeds...Thank you for your reply. Actually, the same features on the link you just posted are already available to me on the home page. It's the detailed analysis widgets below the stats graph which don't open or close when clicked. So, either page will do until home page stats widgets are fixed.

    @ featherseeds,

    As you've sent me links to 3 separate pages with which to access my stats, I'll answer about each for the sake of clarity and in the order you've presented them to me between your two comments:

    At the following link, all widgets work just fine:

    At the following link, the referrers widget is stuck open. It updates accordingly, but will not minimize. All other widgets are stuck closed. Obviously I don't know if they are updating:

    At the following link, all widgets are functioning just fine and are updating appropriately.

    As you see, it's only the home page detail widgets on stats which aren't working properly. As I can see much of the information I want on the other two pages, I am in no hurry for the fix. I'm happy to wait until staff has time to address it. It appears that all other portions of the Home Page (notifications, reader etc) are functioning as expected. Thanks so much for your time!

    It happens a lot... I don't mind, I think people find 'featherseeds' a little more soothing.

    You're not alone. That's the 'new' Dashboard, and it's kind of a work in progress. Unfortunately volunteers here in the Forum can't help with the background stuff*, so I'll tag this so a moderator or staff member can help you. Sometimes it takes a little while, but they'll find you.

    In the meantime, try using the old one (which I prefer). It's a little less flashier, but it works. You could also get yourself an account at Site Meter -- http://www.sitemeter.com -- they have lots of stats.

    *try logging out, emptying your cache, then logging back in. Sometimes it clears things up...

    Re: name...You are right, it's more soothing as featherseeds, but your real user name is more interesting. :)
