WP trying to connect

  1. When i log in to my blog, the WP icon keeps on spinning no matter where i am on my blog. If i am on my Dashboard, at the bottom of the page it says 'transfering data from log3.optimizely.com but it never does, it just sits there, and when i try to edit a post, at the bottom of the page it says 'connecting to doug1izaerwt3.cluodfront.net'. Is this normal? Why is it trying to connect to doug1izaerwt3 in my edit post? Who or what is doug1izaerwt3? Thanks

The blog I need help with is janartmused.wordpress.com.

  2. Please provide some specific information so we have something to work with as without it we can't help you.

    (1) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) Are you using the secure https:// login?

    I
    (3) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you aren’t sure click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

then logging in using the secure https:// log-in

    h. Trying another browser

  3. Everything is up to date, i am using Firefox and connecting via cable (Virgin Media) and i am also using https. I have done all the troubleshooting. When i try to log in, at the bottom of the WP log-in page it also says it's connecting to doug1izaerwt3.net.

  4. I flagged this thread for Staff attention.

  5. Thank you i appreciate that.

  6. Hi jansmix,

Are you able to create, edit, and publish posts?

Everything you are seeing is normal - those addresses you see loading are things we use internally, so there isn't any reason to worry about that.

    Is your internet connection stable?

(I would also suggest that you want to keep using Firefox, to update to the latest stable version - 15.)

  7. Thank you for such a quick reply. The internet connection is always stable. That name doug1 worried me, so glad to know that is normal, i thought i'd been hacked. I can't upload an image in the post i'm trying to edit, the icon just keeps on spinning just as it does with the WP logo in the bar.

  8. You can update your Firefox browser version to 15.0.1 here > http://browsehappy.com

  9. Thanks timethief i thought i was on the latest Firefox version but i'm not. Thank you for your help.

  10. I updated Firefox but i still can't upload an image, and the icon still spins. Is it a Gravatar issue perhaps? It now says 'reading secure Gravatar', but it never moves from that. It seems to be stuck at 'reading secure Gravatar'.

  11. I've stopped spinning and everything is now back to normal, and i can upload again. Perhaps the new version Firefox needed warming up a bit first! Thanks to both of you for the assistance.

  12. Great news! You're welcome. :)
