I'm totally confused now. I just posted my 33 post, just like always, and when I tried to share it on FB, the same way as always, the thumbnail that pops up with the post is my gravatar instead of the image for that post which is a cardinal. Help!

P.S. There is no choice to change the thumbnail with the arrows.

Yes, a long time ago and it is the same photo as my gravatar which is the same one that is the thumbnail in my FB share. I've been searching the internet and it seems that a gazillion others have run into this but can't find a simple solution. Bummer.
Yes, I've tried that link and used the debug tool in FB to get them to take a second look but nothing changes. Everything was going so well with my blog and then...boom...it all went downhill. The whole point of sharing on FB is that the get a preview of the featured image. Hey...maybe it will work the next time....you never know with computers. It's funny because I use Duotone theme, which always only has "one" image so FB shouldn't have any trouble figuring out that it is "featured."

Maybe RSS graffiti will work better for you http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti RSS Graffiti periodically checks the RSS/Atom feeds that you specify and posts any new entries it finds to the Facebook Walls that you specify. You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination.
I'm hoping that the thumbnail issue was just a fluke that will go away when I post again on Tuesday. The first 32 posts worked perfectly so maybe it was a one time thing. When I post on Tuesday, I'm going to log off of WordPress and then click on my blog and hit the FB Share button. Maybe FB won't be able to find my gravatar so easily that way......who knows?! Thanks for keeping on this one and I'll try your solution if I get burned again on Tuesday. Take care.

I made another post today and I was even more disappointed than I expected as not only did FB not grab my featured image from Duotone for the thumbnail, they didn't even grab my new avatar that I made three days ago. They actually used the old one! I had posted and saved a new gravatar because I thought if they won't use the featured image, at least I'll have a nice gravatar with the name of my blog. Out of complete and utter frustration for this totally random degradation of my previously perfect system, I just checked the "remove thumbnail" box when I shared with FB. Of course without the thumbnail, only about 10% of my FB friends will find my WordPress blog. Somebody at WordPress needs to call somebody at FB and get this fixed. All you have to do is Google the problem and see the tons of people with the same problem.
I do appreciate everything you've tried to do "Time Thief" as solved every other problem I've ever had. Merry Christmas!

I made my Friday post a few minutes ago and after I hit "Publish" I went to the "Edit" version of my post, swiped the URL and copied it. Next I logged on to Facebook and went to the debugging tool and pasted the URL. For the first time, the thumbnail in the debugging tool actually changed to my featured image from the new post, a great horned owl, and I knew I was home free. I went back to my post and hit the FB share button and voila, the thumbnail came up correctly as the owl image. I don't know if I'll have to use this route each week but I'm just happy for the first time in several weeks to see my featured photo again in the FB thumbnail. Yay!!!!!!!! Maybe I need to use the FB debugging plug-in that allows me to do this more easily with every post. I'm so happy to see my thumbnail again because my entire blog is about the image!
