xmlrpc.php FILE NOT FOUND

  1. kckckctest.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php comes back with 404 error File Not Found.

    Where's my xmlrpc.php file?

The blog I need help with is kckckctest.wordpress.com.

  2. We do not have access to the underlying php and html files for wordpress.com blogs. We cannot edit them.

  3. This is a multi-user blogging platform. There is not FTP access and we cannot upload plugins or themes.

Before you do anything else please read this entire entry so your are crystal clear on the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  4. Never mind. I removed the www. and now it works fine.

  5. No wordpress.com blogs have the antiquainted "www" in their URLs. You may also want to check this setting > Settings>Writing, tick the option “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”, click Save Changes.

  6. Xmlrpc.XML is only viewable by bots. It has nothing to do with HTML or .php

  7. Xmlrpc.php* rather

  8. I know but we have some bloggers who start by setting up wordpress.com test blogs, and then they import Blogger (blogspot) contents into them and experience problems.

  9. file is found in markup. link rel="pingback" href="http://kckckctest.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php" (html removed)

"XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only." Like I said bots only.

  10. "XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only." is the normal response the WP XML-RPC library responds with when you make an HTTP request that isn't POST. If you put the URL in your web browser it will make an HTTP GET request by default. That's why you get that message in your browser.
