yikes how do i find my forum posts?

  1. This is crazy. I asked a question couple days ago, then I didn't get back in time and it was off the front page and I couldn't find it. then I asked a question about how to find all my posts under my name and lost THAT. I find this forum confusing. I'll watch closely for it this time. Can somebody just tell me how to find all my posts under my name? I even searched by the title which I worte down this last time but the search didn't turn it up.

  2. Just click the "Member" link underneath your name in a forum thread like this. This link is your member profile: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/will1987

  3. And by the way, your username links to an admin page: .../wp-admin/profile.php

You want it to link to your site: http://distilledlearning.wordpress.com/

Take off the /wp-admin/profile.php and your username will work correctly.

  4. Thanks a lot. But how do I "take off" the wp/admin stuff? Really, you're talking to a non-geek here. gotta be fairly specific.

    Will

  5. Go to Dashboard > Users

    Click on your username.

In the website field, delete wp-admin/profile.php

    Leave http://distilledlearning.wordpress.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Save.

    Your done!

  6. ok thanks a lot beemeister for your help. I need to know a few more things -

    1. how to completely delete a blog (I have 1 that I created that I want to get rid of completely)

    2. I can't find the dashboard/username thing that you're talking about.

    3. I realize that the "write page" thing is what you use to create new pages and set their settings, but how do you go into a page thats already been created and change ITS settings. what I really need help on is this blog: http://subartexchange.wordpress.com/ I want to set it so there is:
    a. only 1 page
    b. that page cannot have user comments or any other feedback from who's looking at it
    c. the other pages I may have made that follow it are deleted.
    d. it says as little about wordpress.com as possible on this one page. for instance, can I get rid of "just another wordpress.com blog."

    4. this page doesn't have the .admin stuff on the url. Does that mean I don't need to do anything more with it?

    thanks a lot,
    Will

  7. You can find the answers to your questions in the FAQ pages: http://faq.wordpress.com/

Just search for what you are looking for.

  8. - I've answered your question on comments in your other thread:
    http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-only-want-2-to-3-pages-of-static-text?replies=10#post-269565

    - To modify or delete an already published page you go to Manage>Pages.

    - To remove the "just another wordpress.com blog" you go to Settings>General>Tagline.

Before making any more questions of this type, you'd better explore the various tabs in your Dashboard a bit.
