A friend of mine wants to subscribe to my blog, above. When she tried, she couldn’t figure out how. I just visited the wordpress site and did a search for my site, but “0 results.” Why doesn’t my blog even come up in a search for it? And how should my friend go about subscribing to my blog?

The blog I need help with is uppitywoman1.wordpress.com.

    your wordprss.com blog link, please?

you need to add the subsribe widget to your blog. if you havent got it up. then you need to go to your appearance menu, Widgets, then add the subscribe widget to your menu.

@thoughtsofakind – many people that are not hosted on WordPress.COM ask questions here, that is why @adnanomatic ask for the blog URG, if the person has a WordPress.ORG install they will not have any subscribe Widget and will need to ask for help over at WordPress.ORG on how to do a Subscribe Plug-in.

Getting the URL correct saves 25% of the traffic here on some days.

ooo ok thanks. I didnt realise

Not a problem & no blogs were injured in the filming of this show :)

    Good luck

I see I need to learn to spell URL :(

Why? URG is the new URL

I have the same problem. My URL is: http://writingphotography.wordpress.com/ I did setup a subscribe widget for readers to follor me. Is that the same widget for showing up on the wordpress search engine?

My blog is Dutch, but the widget I am talking about is called ‘Aboneer op deze blog’ to be found in the left top sidebar.

I hope someone can help me.

Is that the same widget for showing up on the wordpress search engine?

No. This is how WordPress.com search works > http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

Keep in mind that the search engine only indexes the body text of blog posts, pages, and comments. The blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed.
