    I have a WP.org blog and is also linked(?) to my WP.com account. I’m still in the dark about that, but my question is:

    Am I able to use my WP.com account with another domain? Another blog other than the one I have with WP.org?

    Thanks!
    Brad

    Hi there,

    I have a WP.org blog and is also linked(?) to my WP.com account. I’m still in the dark about that

    You WordPress.org blog is connected to WordPress.com account via Jetpack. The below support documentation will shed some light regarding the same.

    Yes you can create multiple sites under one WordPress.com account in addition to the connected sites. If you login into your WordPress.com account and go to My Sites on the top left corner. You will see a list of all of your WordPress.com blogs as well as connected sites.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you

    I also see that I have two dashboards for WP.com.

    1. One says “Reader” at the top and the other is when I click WP Admin at the bottom of the menu. What’s the difference?

    2. Is being connected through Jetpack a good or bad thing for my WP.org blog?

    Hi again,

    How do I change the domain in WP.com?

    Do you already have a site in WordPress.com?
    Please read the below support documentation for adding a custom domain to a site you create in WordPress.com
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

    One says “Reader” at the top and the other is when I click WP Admin at the bottom of the menu. What’s the difference?

    The below support documents should help you with the same.

    Is being connected through Jetpack a good or bad thing for my WP.org blog?

    Jetpack provides a number of essential services for your WordPress site. The most popular are:

    Stats and analytics about your traffic;
    Site security (protection from brute force login attacks and uptime monitoring);
    A free Content Delivery Network (CDN) that automatically speeds up all your images and photos; and
    Tools like Related Posts, Publicize, and Sharing buttons that help to increase traffic to your site.

    You’ll also gain access to the WordPress.com dashboard – a central place to manage all of your Jetpack-connected WordPress sites whenever you want to, on any device. This includes:

    Automatic updates and bulk plugin management;
    Access to an improved and faster editor;
    Centrally-managed stats, menus, and other site options;
    Access to your site on the official WordPress mobile and desktop apps.

    Thanks!

    Yes, I have a WP.com blog but it has the wordpress.com end to the domain. How can I change my part of that address?

    #3121328

    Hi @bradborland, you are wanting to change the site.wordpress.com URL to other.wordpress.com? If so, read through this support page, and do know that this cannot be undone, and the old URL will no longer be available.

    Any content on the existing site will be there on the new site URL, just as it was on the old URL.
