404 Error
-
Hi,
I’m trying to create an ‘About Me’ page for a website, and when I publish it with just text there are no problems. I then try to add media into it and when I do, the following comes up:
Not found, error 404
The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the site’s homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Also, I read somewhere to go to the permalinks and click ‘Save Changes’. I’ve tried this, but the same message comes up.
This is super frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,
What is the website you are referring to? Your primary website, the one shown at your forum profile page, https://makingmagicmemoriesblog.wordpress.com/, has been deleted.
404 errors ordinarily occur when the URL you attempt to visit has been deleted, so it doesn’t make sense to get this result on an existing page after simply inserting an image in it.

Okay, no worries.
Here’s your about page, Vanessa: http://makingmagicmemories.com.au/about/. You may add a link to it to your custom menu.
The “Sorry, no content matched your criteria.” message on the front page appears because 1) you have no published posts, and 2) the front page is set to display the posts page.

I’m trying to organise the site before actually posting and I was wanting to put an ‘about’ page. I’ve set it up as a page and at the bottom I wanted to insert an image, but every time I try to insert an image is when I get the 404 error.
When adding media and then clicking update, the following message comes up:
Not found, error 404
The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the site’s homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.

I’ve just been to your “About” page several times. I don’t understand why adding media to the page is giving you the result you describe, the About page certainly exists. It is published, and publicly visible, and it begins
Hey, you!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my about section.
If you want the About page to be your front page, then follow the instructions on the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page. When you assign a static page to display as the front page, you should also set another page as your posts page.
You might want to add a “modlook” tag to call for staff attention if you continue to encounter the 404 error when you attempt to add media to a page.

The same 404 message comes up when I try to save the permalinks by post name. I do not understand either I’m quite new to this which is why it’s super confusing for me!
It’s coming up with this 404 error whenever I try to add media to the actual page

I meant to say, “add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention…”
