    A long time wordpress user cannot comment in threads anymore on my site only, but can on other blogs, we cannot work out why, this has happened for a while, but I only found out now

    The blog I need help with is aussiecriminals.com.au.

    A long time wordpress user cannot comment in threads anymore on my site only, but can on other blogs, we cannot work out why, this has happened for a while, but I only found out now.

    Is it possible to have them signup as a new user then transfer all their former comments etc to the new one?

    Then delete the old corrupted one

    Then rename the new username back to the old one and have everything work?

    A speedy reply would be great as they are missing out on joining the discussion.

    Hi Robbo,

    What happens when they try to comment? Do they get an error message, and if so, what’s the exact error?

    What’s their username? I’ll take a look.

    Note: This test has since been deleted from that post.

    So it appears to be working when I check it o our end. Did your reader mention any difficulties on her end? Any error codes or differences compared to when she comments on your other post?

    Hi I may of deleted it, the user emailed me and said there was a post with wrong name????? AS of today at 1pm 26/01/14 they still have problems.WE still need help sorting this out and the person is a very valued member and getting very frustrated
    (ps that image u posted above is all back end and means nothing to me jerry…)

    sorry all I know is the user is pulling their hair out not being able to post.

    I did ask before about the option of resigning with new username, transferring all data to new user, deleting old user, then renaming new user to original username!

    Will that work, I need a solution please

    So on our end I was able to make a comment as the user, which I deleted soon after I took the screenshot. With that in mind, I am hoping for any clues you can provide, as I am unable to duplicate the issue on our end.

    Hi nothing other than what we have given.Can you contact the user in question and then she can test or check as you ask in real time maybe? If you email me back again,If I have her permission, will give you the email, or you give yours for me to give?

    Nobody has said whether using a new username and transferring history over is an option yet, so is it? Or will we encounter same problem
