Ability to add social blocks to different pages – i.e. instagram or twitter feed

Squarespace utilises content ‘blocks’, and, after connecting to your twitter or instagram account, you can easily insert onto any page you want (not just in a sidebar etc… through the widget) your latest instagram pics, twitter posts etc… with quite a good level of customisation (grid layout, number of columns in grid, number of recent images to show etc…).
It would be nice if WordPress had similar functionality – because there are quite a few users like myself that don’t like to have the sidebar enabled, and so our options for integrating twitter/instagram etc… are limited or non-existent.

The blog I need help with is nicholasleach.com.

Right now you can embed these directly in your WordPress.com posts (not just sidebar widgets):
twitter timeline using the shortcode http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-timeline-widget/

Thanks, but I don’t want to be pasting image after image after image, I just want to be able to insert a block of code, select how many images I want to pull down and how I want them to be displayed
