    Dear Forum,

    I have four websites hosted at WordPress.com with the username ‘copyghosting’, which is the name of one of my companies.

    I currently cannot get access to these websites via the login process. WordPress does not recognise my passwords, however often I change them, via my email address ‘(email redacted)’

    Furthermore, if I login with a new password via the ‘(email redacted)’ email address (in the username field), WordPress opens a new account called ‘chris24n’ that is empty – i.e. does not hold my four websites. I am writing to the Forum via is newly created, empty account, as this is the only way of accessing the Support facility in the Forum.

    I completed and sent an Account Recovery form to WordPress.com 2 days ago. As I have deadlines for updates to these websites, I have time pressure to get access once more to my websites to make necessary changes. I would like to get up and running again urgently: I have two questions …

    1. How long does it take for the Account Recovery team to respond and fix problems?

    2. Is there any advice anyone can give me as to how to bootstrap the process so that I can fix the problem immediately?

    Thanks so much for your time and expertise in helping me to fix the problem and (hopefully) restore my access to the admin pages of my websites

    Yes, everything is hunky-dory now, thanks. I’m grateful for you checking up on me, though.

    Somehow my username email address was different to what I thought it was. I have no idea how that happened, but now I know I’m pretty sure I won’t fall victim to the same problem.
