Account Recovery Woes

First, I am shocked that you have to have a paid account to access WordPress customer support. What is that about? I have a paid account, but I can’t log into it, hence my need for customer support! Truly shocking.

Anyway, I am trying to recover another WordPress account, but my only piece of verification that I have is a PayPal transaction ID for the most recent billing. Unfortunately, when I enter it, I am met with the following message:

‘The receipt does not appear to be valid.’

And I can go no further. I was definitely charged for this bill, and I copied the ID number directly from my PayPal receipt. What do I do now? Is there not a number I can call?

The blog I need help with is jkwadeblog.wordpress.com.

    Hi,

WordPress doesn’t have phone support, but we’re more than happy to help you on this forum.

I’ve added a modlook tag to this post. A Staff member will help you shortly.

In the meantime, have you tried the account recovery process for your paid account? And can you please also provide the username or site connected with that account? https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your quick response.

Yes, I have used the account recovery process as best I can, but it does not accept my transaction ID, giving me the message ‘The receipt does not appear to be valid.’ This is after copying the ID directly from PayPal to the provided form.

The blog is anameless.blog. I believe the username is anamelessone. I have long since forgotten the email I used for this account, and it was last updated about a year ago. I can provide a screenshot of the PayPal receipt to a mod/customer support rep/etc., if given the opportunity.
