I have recently activated domain mapping for my blog dotnettrainer.wordpress.com to onlinetrainingdotnet.com.
So my question is, is this domain mapping equal to 301 permanent redirection, because I would like to move my blog permanently from wordpress to my own domain, and I dont want to loose any of the traffic that I am already having.
The blog I need help with is onlinetrainingdotnet.com.
Domain mapping does not use a 301 for people going to http://onlinetrainingdotnet.com/ but will do if anyone goes to http://dotnettrainer.wordpress.com/ directly.
If you later move to a self-hosted blog you will change the DNS settings to send people browsing to http://onlinetrainingdotnet.com/ to a different host. You won’t lose traffic as long as you keep the same permalink
