I was hoping someone could help me out with a question about ad locations. Two ads are now showing in the middle of my home page turning what once was a static textbox in the middle into a longer one with a scrollbar. For reference, here are some screenshots:
Notice that when you scroll down, my text is barely visible and instead all you can see is the two ads. This is really interfering with the overall appearance and function of my homepage and making navigation difficult. Is there a way to move the ads to the bottom of the page under the widgets? One ad is already located at the bottom and there is room for more if necessary.
The blog I need help with is trektomedtech.wordpress.com.
Good morning –
I think the best option here to limit the experience from the ads would be to use your “blog” page as your home page rather than the “home” page.
Ads are less intrusive on “blog” pages. They are shown at the bottom of the posts.
Hey @lizkarkoski – Not to put too fine a point on it, that rather negates taking advantage of the theme’s special front page template. :(
Here’s what I see temp screenshot and that middle section under About scrolls to reveal a second ad. Would the Ads Team consider having a look at this?
@sarahca94 – WordPress.com can run ads on all their free sites in order to keep free features free. It is possible to remove ads with a paid upgrade, even the Personal upgrade which besides removing all WordPress.com ads also gives you other great features, including direct support by Staff via LiveChat or email. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Thanks for your replies. Like @justjennifer mentioned, I would really like to keep the theme’s special front page template if possible. Is there a way I can get in contact with the Ads Team specifically?
Hi folks. I’m not sure what’s up with the theme, but I was able to correct this for your site. Cheers, all :)
