Is there a way to add a new tag to (more than one or) all posts apart from adding it manually for each post separately? Thanks!

adding a tag to multiple posts
You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.
This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.
If you don't understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.
It is a wordpress.com hosted blog - http://archeios.wordpress.com and I do understand the difference.
It is however a general question, not related to a specific blog.
We always need the blog link, because we get a lot of wrong visits from bloggers who don't understand the difference (that's the reason for the above autoresponse).
Yes you can add a tag to several or all posts at once. Posts > Edit > tick appropriate boxes > select Edit from the "Bulk Actions" dropdown > click Apply > type tag(s) > click Update Posts.
Yes, I was aware of answering to an autoresponse, funny feeling ;)
Thank you so much for your help! I had not been able to find this information in FAQ or forums. Is there something like an online manual that goes into detail?
This is also a good way to search the forums.
Type this into Google's search bar:
Incomparably better than using the forum search box.
Yes, the forum search box is not so helpful.
There is also the tag cloud on the left side of the forum, which is good for commonly asked questions.
"(But they don't cover everything, and it isn't always easy to unearth what you need.)"
True enough ;)
Thank you both for the valuable advice.
Oh, I just remembered that someone, some while ago, told me "Wordpress for Dummies" has some good advice. It's mostly about wp.ORG (I think) but there are sections useful for wp.COM as well. Might be worth checking. I always forget about looking for it at the library.
