Adding a TripAdvisor Award widget to my blog

  1. I am a small hotel and I recently won a TripAdvisor "Certificate of Excellence". I would like to show this award on my blog, but it appears that the source code for entering the widget is blocked by WordPress. I have tried to use the "posting source code" function described by WordPress, and the code does then appear in my text box on my sidebar, but only the code, not the actual visible award which the code should build. This is not an advertisement where I am being paid, but only a notice to my followers and potential guests that we are a top-quality property as defined by TripAdvisor. Can anyone help me successfully put this award widget on my blog?

The blog I need help with is

  2. If you are referring to an image this is easily done. Forget the code you have now. Capture the image and upload it then display it in a text widget.

  3. Thanks for your help!
    I appreciate it.

  4. You're welcome and best wishes with your blog.

  5. I also run a small hotel, and have won this award. I am having problems with OTHER codes from TripAdvisor. One is a scrolling review. All that posts is a hyperlink of text. at the bottom you'll see:
    Jasper_Jasper_National_Park_Alberta.html>Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge'
    as a hyperlink....

  6. PS: is wordpress having problems today? Every time I update or edit I get a white screen for a webpage until about 5 minutes later. I am operating on satellite internet, but other sites are loading fine. I can't even login to WordPress as my admin page is also a blank white screen until it's ready to go again.

  7. Click this link and note that the "award" at the link you point to is a gimmick to get people to link to

  8. The only "evidence" of an award re: your hotel is found on the main page here

  9. is wordpress having problems today?

Not that I am aware of. It sounds like your could have a browser related issue.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see >

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies and JavaScript enabled:

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS:

If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary and also post any error reports you get.

  10. Thanks for the help!

  11. You're welcome.
