Adding authors who don't have personal email accounts

  • Hi, I am a UK Primary school teacher and need to teach a six week block on blogging with my class. I would like to be able to add each class member as an author to a new WordPress blog I have yet to set up.

My big problem is that children at my school cannot have individual email addresses. Home ones cannot be used either on our locked-down system.

Is there a way that this can be achieved?

  • Hi there. You mentioned that this is for a Primary School. Please note our terms of service that WordPress.com is intended for users from the age of 13 and older.

In order for your primary school students to use this service we would need to receive a permission from their parents or guardian.

You might find that a service like Edublogs would be better suited to your needs. Regardless I have gone ahead and tagged this thread for staff input. Thank you for your patience while they get back to you.

  • Good morning –

WordPress.com might not be the best fit for this project. We do require that our users be a minimum of 13 years old, as justjennifer has mentioned.

They would need to be added to your site through their account, this would require them each to have a unique email address to create the account.
