Hi, I’ve downloaded the plugin, but cannot find a place to place it. Seems I’m supposed to switch to WordPress.org? Sounds crazy to me. Is there any other way?

The blog I need help with is yeehawranchmamasheri.wordpress.com.

There is not FTP access to our WordPress.com blogs and we cannot upload plugins.

There are two workarounds that I use on my blogs. See > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/

I went to the page. It said to paste the code in a text widget but make sure the quotations were straight and not curly. Tried several times, but keep getting 404 on the actual posts

You have another problem you need to deal with first. The reason your sidebar is displaying your posts is either due to copying and pasting or it can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML. If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Posts > All Posts, change all your latest posts to Draft, click Update, change them back to Published, click Update again. (You can edit all of them at once: tick the square in front of their titles then select Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply.)

    Here’s the translation widget code:
    <a id="ftwtranslation_button" style="border:0;" href="http://free-website-translation.com/"><img src="http://free-website-translation.com/img/fwt_button_en.gif" alt="Website Translation Widget" /></a>

Ok, I’ve got the html thing fixed, I think. Now where do I put this code? And thank you very much for helping me

It looks okay, but why do you have two of them?

    #887984

I have 3 of them. I tried many many times, nothing worked. Now I have too many. And when I click translate, the page chnges and it’s this huge list translating, and when I click translate on one of them, it just rebuilds the list of translations. I’m confused.

The 3 translation widgets on your blog are working.

Ok, I’ll stop stressing over it. Guess they know how to work it if I don’t. Thanks for the help! We’ll just call this resolved then.

    Hi there,
This is timethief. I’m logged in under my username for my personal blog. If you feel a static page for translations would work better for your readers I included that in my post as well. The code is here and you will have to replace every URL for my blog with the URL for your own blog https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/multi-languages-of-the-same-theme?replies=8#post-551125

    #888016

Did I forget to tell you it worked. I could have swore I did. Anyway, thank you so much for your help. I’m happy now. :-) Really, I appreciate your time.
