    Hi there,

    fairly new to CSS and wondering why it is that I can only customize two colours in the Adelle theme – when just in general WordPress shows you can customize more (or all) colours in a theme when you have the Customization package? I have it and still see two round circles with x’s through them. Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Also, how can I customize the colour of my post titles/sub-headings?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi there,

    The number of colors you can control using the color palette differs from theme to theme. The “X” just mean the theme developer didn’t set a color for that area. Here’s more on how the color picker works:

    That having been said, you are able to use the CSS editor to change the look of any part of your site, and even if you don’t know CSS yourself, there are people in the forums who will help you with the code you need.

    Here’s how you change the colors on your post titles:

    .entry-title, .entry-title a {
    color: #564890 !important;

    Each subheading (h1-h6) is targeted separately. Here’s the code for the H1 headings. To target the others just replace “H1” with whichever heading you want to change:

    .entry-content h1{
    	color: #408654;

    If you want more CSS help, just post your question in this section of the forum: There are several volunteers and staff members who answer these kinds of questions all the time.

    If you want to start learning to mess with the CSS yourself, this is a good place to start:

    Thanks so much – I’ll take a look at this and post if I have any queries.

    Sounds great. If you do have questions later, you’ll probably want to post them in a new thread. Once threads get to be 3-4 days old they can easily get lost in the shuffle.

    Best wishes on your new site!
