Why is there no way for me to link my website and my adsense account? It seems paying for the .com domain didn’t really offer any benefit whatsoever.

Paying for the domain mapping means only that the name of your site appears to your readers without the “” on the end of it.

Some users find that their sites look more professional with or or whatever… Looking more polished and businesslike has a value.

But buying a domain name does not mean that you are paying some company to host your site. You are still hosted here on for free. When you signed up for a blog or site, you agreed to the Terms of Service.

Did you read the complete article about purchasing your domain name upgrade?
    specifically this part:

    • Advertising: Our WordAds program allows you to share revenue from ads shown on your blog. A custom domain is required to participate in WordAds. Note that advertising outside of the WordAds program is not supported.
    • Same Terms of Service: With the custom domain, your blog will still be hosted on, and will still be required to abide by our Terms of Service. Uploading custom themes or plugins is not supported on, as are certain HTML codes and scripts. FTP access to your files is not available.

If you have very recently purchased your upgrade and are dissatisfied, then here is info about cancelling it and getting a refund:

If it’s more than 2 days past the purchase date, you will not receive a refund, but the domain can still be canceled by contacting support.
