    I’m slowly working on a theme from scratch with the CSS upgrade and Sandbox. I have used a ton of code from other blogs.

    Most of it I know what they do and that’s the reason I put them there. Others, I can’t figure out what they do. I’m learning as I go.

    Anyway! I’m testing the blog, and for some reason I keep getting a huge white box when using the blockquote. I would like the removed or changed to black if possible. Or even a thin green line would be nice.

    And the second thing is I did something and now I have green bullets for all of the sidebar options. I need to change them to black or remove them.

    Any takers? :)

    If you are using Firefox, I strongly recommend you get the developer’s toolbar plugin. It makes working on CSS a heck of a lot easier.

    And it looks like you’ve started coding your blog in the older version of Sandbox. Are you sure you want to use that one instead of Sanbox 1.0?

    And I think those green bullets look good but hey, that’s me:) I think you want to add a color definition here:

    div.sidebar ul ul li {

    And I think the blockquote issue is in here:

    blockquote {
    	border-left: 1em solid #e6e6fe;
    	padding: 0 0 0 1em;
    }

    Change the border-left .

    I do use firefox with the developers toolbar. That’s how I attained most of that code.

    As far as the sandbox goes, I really don’t know what the difference is? I’ll switch between the two and check them out.

    Now, I’m not talking about the logo bullets. I’m referring to the ones that are next to “About” and “Uncategorized”.

    I’m going to try your codes right now.

    Awesome. The blockquote worked fantastic. There seems to be, however, some conflicting code for that sidebar issue. For some reason that won’t work. I tried to chande the display to none, I tried color to black, nothing worked.

    What I want is what lorelle.wordpress.com has. Hers is up against the side of the window. When I get home I’m going to try using the dev code to figure it out.

    I’m going to switch to the newer sandbox now and see what happens.

    The new sandbox gets rid of the bullets. Works great.

    However, it also adds another bar at the top. I’m trying to figure out the identifiers for it now, so maybe I can have the pages part at the top and not on the side.

    Yes, the newer version has a menu bar. I have my blog coded in the older version of Sandbox but I’ve got the newer version on my test blog (but I haven’t had time to finish it).

    As for the bullets – in the older version, here’s how I hid them

    div.sidebar ul ul li {
    list-style:none;
    padding:0 0 5px;
    }

    Ahh, list-style:none;

    That should work.

    …testing…

    Woohoo!! fantastic!

    I think I’ll stick with the original Sandbox for now until I learn more of the CSS coding.

    I found a list of all the CSS tags for wordpress.com blog and I’m going through all of them and cleaning up the code.

    Thank you so much for your help.

    Here’s my next problem: the search. I can’t seem to figure out how to get the text to show! I’ve tried a number of combinations and it turns up black on black and I can’t see the lettering.

    Just add color to the “input#s element. For example:

    input#s {
    width: 7em;
    color:green;
    }
