Advertising Space on themes? (Specifically Modern News)

  1. I plan on upgrading to the premium "Modern News" theme created by StudioPress soon. I was checking out StudioPress' website when I found the "Modern News" theme instead titled "News" and this snapshot and demo of the theme included boxes for advertising. I know that this version of the theme is marketed as a child theme for Genesis, but I want to know if the capability to include built-in spaces for advertisements remains on's theme. I would really appreciate any help with this as I hope to start supporting my blog financially with local advertisements.

  2. Let's start with this first. There is no FTP access to free hosted blogs and we cannot upload any third party themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

    On free hosted wordpress.COM blogs we can only use the themes which have been coded to run on this multi-user software and made available to us here. > Appearance > Themes and no others. We cannot edit either themes or templates on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs.
