Monetize Your Site
We know monetization is important for many site owners. We encourage and support, with some restrictions, the many methods of monetizing the hard work you put into your blogs and sites. Read on to find out how you can turn your website into a source of income.
If you’d like to make money on your WordPress.com site with advertisements, WordAds is the official WordPress.com advertising program available for site owners. The program features ads from external ad networks such as Google, Facebook, AOL, and more. You can learn more about WordAds here.
Who is eligible for WordAds?
Users upgrading to the WordPress.com Premium or Business plans have automatic access to the WordAds program and can set up advertising on their sites immediately.
WordPress.com bloggers, who are using a Free or Personal Plan, have moderate to high traffic and appropriate content also have the option to apply to the WordAds program.
Only sites with a custom or mapped domain can apply.
Advertisements from third-party ad networks like Google AdSense, OpenX, Lijit, BuySellAds, and Vibrant Media are not allowed on WordPress.com. If you’d like to run these types of ads on your blog, you may wish to try a self-hosted WordPress installation.

BUT IT SAYS- You can add Affiliate links to your WordPress.com content as long as the primary purpose of your blog is to create original content, and as long as the code for the ad is supported.
When blogging about books you’re reading, music you love, clothes that strike your fancy, gadgets you’re drooling over, or whatever interests you and your readers, feel free to post relevant affiliate links using
either text or images.
Maybe I’m not clear on how affiliate banner advertising is defined and whether or not it’s allowed. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. The key phrase in the affiliates policy is highlighted below:
When blogging about books you’re reading, music you love, clothes that strike your fancy, gadgets you’re drooling over, or whatever interests you and your readers, feel free to post relevant affiliate links using either text or images.
While you are free to use image affiliate links in your posts, we require that the products linked to are relevant to the content you’re posting about. The Bitcoin banners you have all over your site has no relevance at all to your content and is not allowed under our affiliate link policy. I have to ask you to please remove those immediately.
If you want to display advertising in your site’s sidebar and header, you can add a custom domain to your site and apply to our WordAds program instead.
ok i will do that i will remove them. but let me ask if i blog about bitcoin will it be allowed
Affiliate links that are relevant to your content is allowed. But then they should appear in those posts that are about that topic.
GOOD, the blog is an online magazine that i want to up grade to .com and there are columns that will be on bitcoin and other sponsored posts, pls what is your advice as an engineer.
What do you mean what is my advice? What are you asking?
I have clarified our policy regarding affiliate links, but once more, they should be relevant to the content on your site, and the only purpose of your site cannot be just to drive traffic to affiliate sites.
If you want to display advertising in the sidebar and header of your site, you need to apply for WordAds instead.
If you need help with anything else on your site you’re welcome to start a new thread, but as we’ve answered your original question I’m closing this thread now.
The topic ‘AFFILIATE MAKETING’ is closed to new replies.
